NORTH JAVA, N.Y. — The crew of a National Guard helicopter is safe after a precautionary landing in Wyoming County.

Military officials say it happened around 11 a.m. Friday in North Java.

They say a Black Hawk helicopter that took off from Rochester landed because of maintenance issues in the area near Burst and Pleasant Valley Roads.

A contact team from Rochester International Airport is on the way to the scene to examine the helicopter.

The team will then decide if the Black Hawk is safe to fly back to Rochester.
