BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The Democratic candidate for Binghamton mayor is receiving a round of endorsements.

On Monday, Tarik Abdelazim was supported by Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo and Broome County Executive Jason Garnar. Abdelazim also received endorsements from the chairs of the city and county Democratic committee, along with City Councilman Conrad Taylor and Legislator Mary Kaminsky.

Abdelazim was praised for his work with the future generation and his ability to welcome diversity. With just a few weeks left to go until election night, Abdelazim says he's extremely confident.

"I've just been inspired by the volunteers we've been able to mobilize, the support, and I think the momentum is on our side and I'm really looking forward to November 7. I think we're going to shock a lot of people," Abdelazim said.

Abdelazim is on the ballot against Binghamton Mayor Rich David on November 7.
