SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: Environmental educators came together Monday morning to demonstrate "Music of Plants."

Research found that plants emit frequencies picked up by organisms, but they cannot be picked up by the human ear.

This newly developed program, using a synthesizer, an amplifier and a speaker can now turn those frequencies into musical sounds and geometric patterns.

Science teachers say this new research could be a game changer in learning new ways to harvest food.

"If people who are producing our nation's food understand how the plants interact with the pollinators, I feel like that could be use in the future with food production," said Sarah Zielewicz, an Evertech Alternative High School science teacher.

As part of the presentation, high school students put together a slideshow to demonstrate the research to the younger students.
