BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Lots of excitement for hockey fans in Binghamton this weekend: They'll be cheering on the Devils for the first time at their home opener Saturday.

The New Jersey Devils' AHL affiliate was brought in from Albany, replacing the Binghamton Senators. The Devils are under contract until 2022.

Officials have been getting the arena ready and adding new signage, but it goes beyond the ice.

"We worked alongside the county,” said Media Relations Director,Rob Lippolis. “We were able to get flags and place them down the road with the logos. [For] a lot of things, they’ve been great with us too."

Players will hit the ice for opening night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
