A 77-year-old woman died yesterday morning in Delhi after she crossed the double yellow line on State Highway 10 and crashed into an oncoming dump truck, which flipped over, according to police.

Carol S. Lowell, of Delhi, died at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was taken to the hospital, but was later released. The truck flipped over into a nearby ditch. Paul Jurjens, the driver of the truck, escaped before it caught fire.

The accident closed the highway for about six hours Thursday.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but authorities don't believe charges will be filed.
