BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The flips, spirals and speed; it's enough to capture any audience.
"We've had very large crowds here, every year. It's very much like a full scale air show, just on a little smaller scale," Binghamton Aeros president Tony Jensen said.
It's the 31st Annual Giant Scale Air Show sponsored by the Binghamton Aeros.
More than 100 pilots showed off their special birds, some of which were hand crafted.
"It's my own design. It's eleven feet long and eleven feet wide," pilot Mike Mirabilio said.
"We have several different models here that represent WWI, WWII, the Golden Age of Aviation, modern aerobatic aircrafts, turbin jets, all kinds," Jensen said. "If it flies, you pretty much see it represented here."
However, enjoying the air show is not the only thing these pilots and spectators are doing. Each year, the air show supports a different local charity. This year's proceeds will go to CHOW.
"It's a win win for everybody. We plan on it every year," Mirabilio said.
The air show has raised thousands over the years.
"We go all out and do everything we can to bring the local community and be able to give back to the community," said Jensen.
And bringing in the community seems to be no problem for the show, especially when it comes to a fan favorite.
"It was really neat. That jet was awesome," Air Show spectator Jeff Kuss said.
"The jet was so cool and once it was close to the ground. Then, he did a pretty good landing and it was so fast when it got close to us," Air Show spectator Logan Kuss said.
Flying high and flying strong.
