Genesee Country Village and Museum welcomes visitors to step back in time and experience what Christmas was like 200 years ago.

From candle making to cookies, things are done a little differently — and in costume.

And of course, Saint Nick is there to spread some cheer.

"The authenticity, what we can bring from the past and share with the public today to let them know what life was like back then, and appreciate what we have today, but also how relevant things we talk about in the past are to life today," said Brian Nagel, senior director of interpretation at the museum. He doubles as the man from the North Pole.

The village will have candle making and holiday food prep at its Preparing for the Holidays Celebration November 18th.

Then it will launch its Yuletide in the Country program every weekend of December leading up to Christmas.
