The Rochester man accused of taking off with a 14-year-old neighbor to New York City and triggering a statewide Amber Alert could spend decades in prison.

Robert Gonzalez, 41, was indicted on federal child pornography charges by a grand jury. He was ordered held without bail after previously pleading not guilty to three sex crimes.

Court documents released following Gonzalez's initial arraignment disclose the nature of the charges and that they happened nearly three weeks before the Amber Alert.

Investigators reported that on November 12, Gonzalez engaged in oral sex with the teenager. The complaint indicates Gonzalez recorded the encounter on his phone.

Gonzalez pleaded not guilty to felony use of a child in a sexual performance and second degree criminal sex act as well as third degree sex abuse, a misdemeanor.

FBI agents and New York City police found Gonzalez and the teenager in Brooklyn 14 hours after the Amber Alert was engaged.

Rochester City Court Judge Stephen Miller introduced an order of protection to Gonzalez, who was told to stay away from one person identified in a court document. Though the person's name was not cited in court verbally, Gonzalez nodded in recognition when a prosecutor showed him the person's name. It is believed the teenager with whom he traveled to Brooklyn is the person named in the order.

Judge Miller cited Gonzalez's past of felony convictions in deciding to hold the Rochester man without bail.
