In a reversal, the man accused of killing a Binghamton University student last spring has accepted a plea deal for second-degree murder, according to the Broome County District Attorney's Office.

Mike Roque, who surprised even his attorney when he rejected a plea deal in court on Thursday, was back in front of a judge Friday to take the deal.

He is set to be sentenced November 16.

Roque, from Massapequa on Long Island, plead guilty for the stabbing death of Joao Souza on the BU campus back in April.

He was set to stand trial later this month.
