VESTAL, N.Y. -- Multiple crews quickly contained a fire at a Vestal church building.

The call came in around 11:15 a.m. Satuday for a fire at the Bridgewater Church Recreation Center on Owego Road.

When firefighters arrived there was heavy smoke inside the building.

Church officials were setting up for a children's birthday party at the time. 

There's heavy water damage, but officials say the building can still be used.

No one was hurt.

The cause remains under investigation.
