A Utica man has been arrested, accused of leading police on a car chase earlier this week, using a stolen vehicle.

It started on Interstate 81 in the town of Barker a little after 10:30 Sunday morning. State Police say they spotted a vehicle headed north that was reported stolen from Binghamton earlier that day. Troopers attempted to pull the car over, but they say the driver, 34-year old Scott Mowry, refused to stop, leading police on a chase that hit speeds of more than 100 mph.

They say Mowry intentionally crashed into a Broome County Sheriff's vehicle and took off on foot shortly before being taken into custody. He's been charged with criminal possession of stolen property, unlawfully feeling a police officer, and several other charges and traffic violations.

Mowry is being held at the Cortland County jail after being arraigned in the town of Virgil court. No bail was set.
