Creating regulations for sports betting was a late add to the legislature's to-do list this year.

Immediately after the Supreme Court cleared the way for legal sports betting, it seemed like the state gaming commission might be able to address the issue on its own.

But then lawmakers determined they did need to act- and began trying to craft a bill that both houses could support.

And ultimately, members of the Assembly Democratic conference raised too many concerns for any measure to move forward.

One those members with an objection was Assemblyman Walter Mosley.
