Buffalo, N.Y. -- The SNAP program could see a major overhaul, as part of the President's proposed 2019 budget.

The plan includes a 20 percent funding cut and is also tapping the USDA to roll out a "Harvest Box."

Under the proposeed plan, SNAP recipients who receive more than $90 dollars per month would have half of their money go toward a government food delivery service.

It would ship boxes filled with items like milk, fruit, grains and meat.

But not everyone is thrilled with this news.

Director of Buffalo nonprofit, Food For All, Kellyann Kowalski, says it removes a crucial element of the SNAP program.

"That choice brings dignity. When you are struggling and having a hard time making ends meet, at least you should have a choice about what you're gonna buy and where you're gonna buy it.” said Kowalski.

According to the Trump administration, this program would save almost $130 billion dollars.
