An unsettled weather pattern will continue into this week.  We'll have a chance for scattered showers and storms for at least the next several days.

Monday's storms will be more widespread than what we saw Father's Day.  The greatest chance for storms in central North Carolina will come towards the end of the day and into tonight. The storm threat could continue after midnight around the Triangle and Sandhills.

Some of the storms that form late Monday and Monday night could be strong to severe.  Any severe storm will likely produce damaging wind gusts, locally heavy downpours and frequent lightning.

As a weakening boundary continues eastward across the state late tonight, rain chances will slowly shift eastward towards the coast after midnight.

The risk for any strong storms will be lower Tuesday. However, "hit or miss" showers and storms could be around during the morning and afternoon hours.  Best chances for scattered to numerous showers and storms will be south and east of Raleigh along the dissipating boundary.

Scattered afternoon and evening storms will then be possible each afternoon through the rest of the week and for the upcoming weekend.
