CHARLOTTE – There was an abrupt ending to a Carolina Panthers news conference Wednesday after quarterback Cam Newton didn't answer a reporter's question.

When asked about the offense's consistency, Newton called for the next question.

There has been no comment from the team or Newton himself.

Sunday the Panthers head to Tampa to take on the Buccaneers.

Panthers’ Spokesman Steve Drummond issued a statement Wednesday which read, “Cam didn't intend to be discourteous toward any specific media member. In his mind, after answering questions for nine minutes he had fulfilled his obligations."
