Weather should not pose a problem for Thanksgiving travelers across North Carolina Tuesday and Wednesday.

A cold front passing through the state Tuesday morning only brings a slight chance for a few brief sprinkles. As the front moves to the east, clearing skies are expected. Look for mostly sunny conditions in the afternoon with highs in the low to mid 60s.

Cooler air will arrive behind the front Tuesday night. Lows will drop to the mid 30s by sunrise Wednesday.

Wednesday will be a sunny and cool day with highs in the mid 50s.

Another shot of colder air will arrive for Thanksgiving. Thursday should be mostly sunny but highs will only top out in the upper 40s to near 50. Friday will likely be colder with morning lows in the upper 20s and highs just in the mid 40s.

The weather may not be as nice for travelers on Saturday. Rain will return through much of the day with one to two inches expected in many parts of North Carolina.
