RALEIGH, N.C. -- Cold Canadian high pressure will pass north of the region overnight allowing our gusty winds to subside.

  • Sunshine and chilly weather for Sunday afternoon
  • Rain on Monday afternoon
  • Chilly temperatures for the rest of the work week

Clear skies and light winds are expected and that adds up to some very cold temperatures; lows mid to upper 20s by Sunday morning for the first time this season.

After a very cold morning, sunshine and chilly weather is on tap for Sunday afternoon, a chilly day but without the winds.

Heading into the work week a strengthening storm system will develop along the Gulf Coast and bring increasing clouds by Sunday night and early Monday.

Rain will overspread central North Carolina by Monday afternoon and continue well into Tuesday and could be heavy at times. After that, more chilly temperatures are in store for the rest of the work week.
