We saw high and mid-level clouds cross the Triad region for much of the day on Tuesday, high pressure will set the stage for lots of sun on Wednesday.

Any lingering clouds will continue to clear through the rest of the night as a cold front crosses the state and as high pressure builds in behind it.

This high will give us a full day of sunshine on Wednesday but even with all that sunlight, daytime highs will run below average for this time of the year.

A developing area of low pressure will lift toward North Carolina by late Thursday. Clouds will increase on Thursday but we should remain rain free during the day. However rain chances will increase by Thursday night and we'll continue to see rain in the forecast from Friday into Saturday. Shower chances may decrease during the day on Sunday.

Afternoon highs over the next five to seven days are expected to remain below average for the end of October.
