WAKE COUNTY, N.C. – Spectrum volunteers got an early start Saturday morning in order to bring one woman’s home back to life.

  • Volunteers through Spectrum helped revive a Wendell woman's home Saturday.
  • Through a program sponsored by Spectrum, Pat Philips' home received much-needed new carpeting at no cost to her.
  • The Spectrum Housing Assist program hopes to repair 50,000 homes in the United States by 2020.

Pat Philips has lived in her Wendell home for more than 40 years. But, after her husband died, her house fell into disrepair.

Thanks to Spectrum’s Housing Assist program, the community came together to improve Philips’ home at no cost to her.

"It's just wonderful,” said Mrs. Philips. “I'm so overwhelmed with it. I could hardly sleep last night just thinking about it. It's like a Christmas gift."

Spectrum Housing Assist hope to repair 50,000 homes in need nationwide by 2020.

If you wish to apply for assistance through the program, or know someone who would, please fill out this online form.
