Robbins is still recovering from Hurricane Florence after sustaining about $2 million in damages. Town Manager David Lambert said he was prepared for Michael, but wasn't expecting much destruction.

"It was almost like not a big event up until about 15 minutes," Lambert said. "Fifteen minutes changed everything for Robbins. We had tremendous winds, rain and I believe we had a couple of tornadoes in a couple of isolated areas."

Spectrum News reached out to Duke Energy for answers. A spokeswoman for the company said on October 12, crews will first assess damage before restoring power. The spokeswoman wasn't able to give a day or time when lights will be on in the city.
