FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A passionate belief in standing up for what they believe is right brought about 50 people out to a rally in Friday evening.

Many are with the local chapter of the National Organization of Women, siding with Dr. Christine Ford and her allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. They don't believe he should be confirmed.

"It's just awfully frustrating to see Dr. Ford present herself with courage in spite of all the odds. With all the attacks on her family and everything, she came forward,” Sharon Johnson, president of Fayetteville NOW said.

Some protesters were simply compelled to come to this rally to change things.

"I see a lot of wrongs that need to get righted and people that just don't care. They have the power to care and make a difference and they're not," Fort Bragg resident Jenn Alexander said.

While this group made up of men and women support one side in this controversy, there were others who supported the other side.

"I have my own voice and I don't want all these women speaking for me. I know there's more to the story than what we've been lead to believe," Fayetteville resident Chantel Leezer said.

"A man that's had a stellar reputation has been through at this point, seven FBI background investigations over the course of a stellar career has been besmirched and smeared by a political agenda," Fayetteville resident Ed Leezer said.

Bottom line, the controversy is firing up everybody one way or another on all sides.
