If you thought highs in the 80s were "warm" on Wednesday, get ready for 90s on Thursday...

High pressure continues to control the weather across North Carolina and with that, the very warm temperatures continue.  On Wednesday, morning lows and afternoon highs averaged eight to ten degrees above normal for the first week in October.  And even "warmer" weather is on the way.

Through the night we'll see partly cloudy to mostly clear skies with warm overnight lows.

On Thursday, look for lots of sunshine, a few clouds and daytime highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

A front will slip toward the state from the north on Friday.  This will give us a few more clouds and a very small chance for a few scattered showers and storms.  We may see a few more showers on Saturday as well but the chance remains low.

In the tropics, Leslie became a hurricane on Wednesday morning.  The storm will stay in the Atlantic and should stay away from the United States.
