LUMBERTON, N.C. -- Nearly 2 weeks after being flooded out by Hurricane Florence, the cleanup from the storm continues in Robeson County.

That destruction was piled on for some people who were still trying to rebuild after getting hit by Hurricane Matthew in 2016.

Resident Mark Parker was told by a FEMA representative on Friday that his home, which he has lived in for nearly 10 years, was a total loss due to the flooding caused by Florence.

"When she did her initial inspection, we got about 3 foot in the house and she pretty told us we had a total loss. Everything needs to be replaced, " said Parker.

County emergency officials told us, as of Friday afternoon, that 3 emergency shelters were still open. More than 350 people were still staying in those shelters.
