DURHAM, N.C. -- Authorities in Durham are investigating after a fire broke out at a Durham probation office overnight.

  • A fire broke out at a Probation department in Durham.
  • Fire was reported at 4:45 Tuesday morning.
  • Considered "suspicious." 

According to officials, firefighters were dispatched to 119 Orange St. at 4:45 Tuesday morning.

Upon arrival, smoke was visible coming out of the three-story structure. 

The fire was located and put out quickly. 

The building suffered fire, smoke and water damage in the fire room and adjacent area, as well as smoke damage on the first floor.

There was no damage to the second or third floors and no injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation and is said to be considered "suspicious."
