A frontal boundary bisecting the state will make for an interesting forecast across the region. Sunday brought a wide range of afternoon temperatures with mid 60s showing up near the Virginia border and upper 80s near the South Carolina border.

The front is forecast to slowly push south Sunday night into early Monday with a few showers developing along the boundary layer. To the north of the front mostly cloudy skies will produce patches of light rain and drizzle.

Temperatures will gradually warm up through the upcoming week and peak back in the upper 80s by Wednesday. By late in the week another stronger cold front has the potential to produce some stronger thunderstorms for central and western portions of the state and cool us down next weekend.
