CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Hornets players, coaches and owner Michael Jordan took time Friday to help feed victims of Hurricane Florence.

The goal was to pack 5,000 individual meals which will be delivered to Myrtle Beach, Fayetteville and Jordan's hometown of Wilmington. He says getting involved was a no-brainer.

"It doesn't take much to get us moving in the right direction in terms of lending a hand. For me it wasn't even a doubt. Yeah I wanted to be the first one to jump out because it's home and hopefully we can get other people to understand the importance of it."

Food Lion donated the food for the boxes. The Charlotte Hornets foundation also made a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
