Unfortunately, Florence is not quite done with North Carolina just yet.   As the remnants track to our north early this week, showers and storms are still expected around the central and eastern North Carolina for Monday and Tuesday.

The wide spread, all day rain seen around the region over the last few days is not expected for the first couple days of this week.  Instead, the showers and storms will be scattered around the area.  When they pop up, localy heavy downpours along with lightning is possible.

When the downpours develop, the threat for flash flooding will instantly increase.  That is especially the case for locations in southeastern North Carolina where at least 20 to 30 inches of rain has fallen since Thursday.

Sunny weather will finally return Wednesday and continue through at least the end of this week.

Despite the dry forecast for the second half of this week, the threat for flooding will not come to an end as rivers continue to rise.
