FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- A Fayetteville teen is behind bars after a deadly shooting Wednesday morning.

  • Michael Toler has been charged with manslaughter after a shooting Wednesday.
  • Police say Toler shot Johnathon Chavis to death.
  • Toler was given a $200,000 bond.

Michael Ray Toler, 18, has been arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter and possession of a handgun by a minor. 

Police say Toler shot and killed Johnathon Scott Chavis, 19, on Windy Hill Circle in the early hours of Wednesday morning. 

Toler was taken to the Cumberland County Detention center and given a $200,000 secured bond.
