Our air conditioners will not be able to catch a break for the next several days. High temperatures will continue to top out just above 90 for the rest of this week. The humidity will make it feel even hotter.

Wednesday's high temperatures will return to the low 90s across most of the Triangle and Sandhills. The heat index will be in the upper 90s to near 100. Most of the day will be partly cloudy with only a slight chance for an isolated storm in the Sandhills.

Similar conditions are expected for Thursday and Friday. Highs both days should reach the low to mid 90s with a heat index near or just under 100.

Late night and morning low temperatures will only drop to the low and mid 70s through the end of the week.
