FORT BRAGG, NC -- Army officials are preparing their soldiers to fight overseas.

About 250 paratroopers participated in a live fire training exercise Tuesday. It involved getting soldiers to an area of interest to attack their enemy. From there, paratroopers figured out ways to prepare for a counter attack.

The soldiers used helicopters and drones over the span of five kilometers for training.

"The end result is that all the paratroopers get trained in their basic level for their task and being able to conduct a squad section platoon troop-level live fire exercise," third squadron 73rd Cavalry Regiment Operations Officer, Maj. Adam Greene said.

Paratroopers said they go through training every two months to help with proficient and gain confidence in their weapons.
