High temperatures have only topped out in the 80s so far this week. That will likely change for most of central North Carolina for the rest of the week. Wednesday's highs should return to near 90 and the low 90s.

Highs in the low to mid 90s are forecast for the Triangle and Sandhills for Thursday and Friday. The humidity will make it feel a few degrees warmer each day.

The chance for any afternoon showers looks to be less than 20 percent for Wednesday and Thursday. However, higher chances for afternoon and evening storms are expected by the weekend.

With scattered storms in the area, high temperatures should stay below 90 for Saturday and Sunday.
