Our weather to start the week should be about what you would expect for August in central North Carolina. Much of Monday will be partly sunny with highs warming to the mid and upper 80s. There's just a slight chance for an isolated afternoon storm around the Triangle.

The chance for a few storms is higher near and east of I-95 for Monday afternoon. While the storms will not be widespread, those that develop could be intense. The storms will be capable of producing localized downpours, frequent lightning, and strong wind gusts. Any storms that form should die down by the evening.

Overall, rain chances this week will be lower than this past weekend. High temperatures will return to the low 90s by midweek.
