EFLAND, N.C. -- An Orange County construction worker got caught under three feet of dirt Monday morning when a trench caved in.

  • It happened on West Ten Road 
  • The workers were clearing out a trench for a new sewer line
  • The man is expected to be OK

The accident happened on the job along West Ten Road in Efland while he was digging out a ditch.

First responders estimated it to be 18 feet deep.

Construction workers have been clearing out the trench for a new sewer line.

Crews got the man out of the dirt in less than an hour.

The worker is said to not be badly injured and he’s more than likely going to come out OK.
