WAKE COUNTY, N.C.  – A Wake County mother says she wants other parents to do their homework before picking a summer camp for their children.

  • Tenisha Barnes says her 4-year-old son, Xavier, was left unsupervised.
  • Xavier was found wandering in a movie theater.
  • Camp owners say they admit their mistakes and have no excuses.

This comes after Tenisha Barnes' 4-year-old son, Xavier, was found wandering in a movie theater.

She says he was enrolled in camp at black belt world in Knightdale -- and some of the campers were allowed to use the restroom unsupervised during an off-site field trip on Tuesday.

His mother was questioning why this was allowed.

“Like, why? Why would you give them permission to go by themselves?” said Barnes.

The camp owners say they admit their mistakes and have no excuses.

Barnes also says DHHS told her they can't conduct an investigation because the facility wasn't licensed.
