DURHAM, N.C. -- The Durham Parks & Rec Department is using goats to clear the way for a dog park!

  • Goats are being used to clear the way for a dog park at Duke Park.
  • Twenty goats will be in the park for five days.
  • The public is invited to watch.

The goats will remove vegetation from the northwest section of Duke Park to increase visibility for the new Petsafe Dog Park.

Durham says this is a cheap and environmentally friendly way to add to the community.

The clearing is made possible by The Goat Squad, a local targeted grazing business. The squad is bringing 20 goats who will graze on unwanted vegetation in the park for five days.

The public is invited to stop by and see the goats at work.
