FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Fayetteville drivers, move over because there will soon be more bikes on the roads.

  • Lime service begins Aug. 21.
  • Service will be centered at Fayetteville State University.
  • Riders can rent a bike using the Lime app for $1 every 30 minutes.

It's all thanks to a new bike sharing service form Lime.

The company will be centered at Fayetteville State University starting Aug. 21.

City officials plan to make a city ordinance in the coming weeks about what riders can expect.

Lime will start with 125 bikes in the downtown area with residents looking forward to riding around the city.

"I think it's a really cool idea," said Fayetteville resident Vincent Luna. "Personally, I love riding my bike and it's really good exercise. It's a good way to get around without having to use gas. I'm all for it."

The bikes will be used both on and off campus.

Riders can rent a bike using the Lime app for $1 every 30 minutes.
