A bright morning followed by a hot, and at times stormy afternoon. That's what's unfolding for our Sunday, and that's what we can expect for the workweek ahead. Highs will peak in the low 90s Sunday afternoon. There's still an ample amount of moisture in the state thanks to the Bermuda high sitting to the east of the state over the Atlantic. The heating through the day along with the available moisture is the reason why storms are a issue once again across the Carolinas. Rain coverage will be isolated to scattered at best until sunset. After sunset, the cooling temperatures will zap any ongoing storm of its energy and eventually we'll find ourselves in a calm and dry night. Lows overnight will rest in the low 70s, skies will be mostly clear.

Our workweek will feature similar weather. Dry and sunny morning followed by hot afternoons with storms. A cold front will dive through the region beginning Wednesday. But rather than sweeping through and bringing drier, cooler air behind it. This front will likely stall over the region keeping rain in our forecast into next weekend. So over the next 5 to 7 days keep your umbrella close by and expect the best chance for rain to arrive during the afternoon and linger into the evening.
