DURHAM, N.C. -- Two half-brothers are now officially charged with robbing a SunTrust bank branch in Durham. One is also charged with shooting an employee.

  • Family: Half-brothers are charged with robbing a SunTrust on Highway 54 East. 
  • An employee was shot during the robbery.
  • One of the suspects wore a long, braided wig, sunglasses, a pink jacket and black pants. 

Javon Cheek and Larry Johnson faced a judge Friday morning.

Durham police say the pair robbed the bank on N.C. Highway 54 on Wednesday afternoon.

They are both charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.

However, Cheek is also charged with assault with a deadly weapon after police say he shot a male bank employee in the arm. That employee is now recovering.

Johnson's bond was set at $150,000. Cheek's bond was set at $500,000

Both suspects are expected to be back in court next month.
