RALEIGH, N.C. -- Kroger is hosting a career fair Tuesday and Wednesday for those impacted by the closing of 14 stores.

  • All Triangle stores will close by mid-August.
  • In all, 1,600 employees are affected.
  • Some stores are being converted to Harris Teeter but Kroger employees must apply.

The job fairs come as more than 1,600 Kroger employees are looking for work after the chain announced it will shut down all stores in the Triangle this August.

About 40 companies including Food Lion, Walmart, Target and Chick-fil-A are taking part in the job fair.

Kroger is also offering assistance in resume writing.

Those attending should be prepared for on-the-spot interviews as well.

The event is being held at the Hampton Inn Airport in Brier Creek from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
