NORTH CAROLINA -- High pressure that was to our north yesterday has slid east offshore today. This new placement has brought a southerly wind flow across much of the state and region.

  • Expect highs ranging from the upper 80s across eastern North Carolina to mid-90s in more central locations and the Sandhills. Raleigh and the triangle will experience highs in the low 90s.
  • A cold front will sweep through the state Tuesday bringing the return of widespread rain.
  • We’ll have a brief dry day Thursday before the front lifts north as a warm front late Thursday night and Friday.

Temperatures will be warmer today than yesterday as more moisture flows into the state. Expect highs ranging from the upper 80s across eastern North Carolina to mid-90s in more central locations and the Sandhills. Raleigh and the triangle will experience highs in the low 90s.

Enjoy today’s dry weather because rain is set to return. A cold front will sweep through the state Tuesday bringing the return of widespread rain. Clouds will grow in late tonight and overnight.

Expect a partly to mostly cloudy day Monday with similar highs in the upper 80s to low 90s for many. A few isolated showers and storms will be possible through the afternoon and evening.

The aforementioned cold front will begin to slide through our area late Tuesday and stall to our south Wednesday. We’ll have a brief dry day Thursday before the front lifts north as a warm front late Thursday night and Friday.
