CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- We've learned that the best burger in America is being served up right here in the Tar Heel State.

• Al's Burger Shack was named the top burger restaurant in the U.S. by Trip Advisor. 
• Their signature is the Bobo Chill Cheeseburger. 
• Two locations are in Chapel Hill with a third planned for Durham. 

According to Trip Advisor, you can't beat Al's Burger Shack in Chapel Hill.

Al’s was named the “Top Burger Restaurant in the U.S.”

The description reads: “Located steps away from the University of North Carolina campus, Al's Burger Shack prides itself on being local and sustainable – serving up juicy, all-natural, hormone and antibiotic-free burgers since 2013.”

Their signature burger the "Bobo Chili Cheeseburger,” is topped with chili, coleslaw, onions, mustard and American cheese.

Al's Burger Shack is the only North Carolina burger joint on the list.

The burger joint has another location in Chapel Hill’s Southern Village and plans to open a third location in Durham near Jordan Lake.
