RALEIGH, N.C. -- Kroger associates have been offered lump-sum payouts to work until the stores close in the Triangle.

  • Kroger announced it would close all 14 stores in Raleigh and Durham
  • 1,500 employees to receive payouts
  • Health care will be extended until Oct. 31

This month, the grocery store announced it would close all 14 of its stores in Raleigh and Durham by August which impacts about 1,500 employees.

In a letter given to employees, the company detailed how it's going to divide it's payout.

Part-time employees will receive $250. The payout for full-time employees ranges depending on how long they've worked at the store. Employees who have worked less than five years will get $400.

While employees who have been there for 20 years or more will receive $1,000, department heads will get $1,250.

Health care will be extended until Oct. 31.
