WAKE FOREST, N.C. -- An armed law enforcement officer is now patrolling at a Wake Forest elementary school after a trespasser was reported on campus.

  • Trespassing order filed against Arthur Kochetkov.
  • An armed officer is currently patrolling the school.
  • Parents want the officer there permanently.

The Wake County school system filed a trespassing order against 33-year-old Arthur Kochetkov after reports that he's been seen on the campus of Jones Dairy Elementary School.

Police documents reveal that Kochetkov lives in the North Hampton community on Tiffield Way, which is just footsteps away from the school.

The Wake County Sheriff's Office has said they do not have resources right now to permanently place an officer at the campus. However, they will be there during arrival and dismissal. They will also perform regular patrols.

Now, there's a Change.org petition gaining signatures where some parents are calling for two officers on site permanently.

Classes at the year-round school wrap up next week.
