SPRING LAKE, N.C. -- Residents at the Garden Grove Mobile Home Park in Cumberland County have been told they must move due to the community's failing septic and sewer systems.

  • Garden Grove Mobile Home Park has told residents they have to move.
  • Residents have not had water since May.
  • Some residents own their mobile homes and say moving isn't so simple.

However, at least some of the residents at the park own their homes and say simply moving is not an option.

The problems for the park started in May when residents received a note from management saying their water was going to be turned off permanently and they would have to move.

The letters stated that the park was unable to fix issues due to "extreme delinquencies of rental payments."

County officials say they plan to visit the park this Wednesday to discuss options with residents.
