Eric Goll was a stand out student and football player at Haines City High School. Goll's mother said that he had big dreams and even wanted to become a lawyer.
"He would've graduated last month from college with a degree in criminal justice," said Goll’s mother Pinky Bemah-Goll.
However, the 22-year-old collapsed on the field after the first day of football practice at Chadron State College in Nebraska back in 2016. He later died.
Behma-Goll says that she has good days and she has bad days.
"It is, it is. As a matter of fact, yesterday was tough," Behma-Goll said.
However, there is one big project that keeps Behma-Goll moving forward: providing for a needy community in her home country of Liberia.
"There's no school, there's no library," said Behma-Goll of Kenama Village. "Before, these people used to walk two-three hours to go to clinic."
After spending eight months in Kenama Village, Behma-Goll said the people living there will now have it all thanks to donations she collected last year in her son's name.
"He was a giver and I know he is smiling down and telling me how proud he is of what I’m doing," said an emotional Behma-Goll.
There is still much work to be done, including the completion of the village school and health clinic. If you would like to make a donation, Behma-Goll has set up this GoFundMe.
