ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. -- A couple is $1 million richer after winning one of the Crown Jewels jackpots.

  • Maggie and Rogerick Bullard plan to use money to pay off dream house
  • Purchased a $10 Crown Jewels ticket
  • They took home $423,009

Maggie and Rogerick Bullard said they plan to use their million to pay off their dream house before they move into it.

“It’s a dream come true,” Maggie said. “It came at the perfect time. We’re in the middle of building a 4-bedroom 2-bath home, and now we’ll be able to have it all paid for. This is just such a relief.”

They purchased a $10 Crown Jewels ticket at the Kia Quick Mart on N.C. 42 West in Clayton.

The couple chose a lump sum of $600,000, and took home $423,009 after state and federal taxes.

They plan to move into their new home in September.

Four top prizes remain in the Crown Jewels lottery.
