WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -- An Apex High School teacher has been suspended after a video surfaced showing him holding a student by the neck. 

• Teacher at Apex High School grabbed student by neck.
• Identified as Mr. Brian Kelley. 
• Kelley has been suspended. 

Brian Kelley can be seen in the video appearing to shout at the student while grasping his hands around their throat.

 The video does not have sound, however, so what Kelley was saying to the student is not known.

The student, a young man, has not been identified and it is unknown if charges will be pressed. 

In a statement, Wake County Schools Public Information Officer, Lisa Luten, says: "The school is aware of the incident. As soon as they were made aware, they began an investigation. Brian Kelley, Apex HS teacher, has been suspended during this investigation."
