RALEIGH, N.C. -- Heavy rain left cars stuck on Leesville Road in Raleigh after heavy rains Monday night.

  • Some areas received over four inches of rain.
  • Cars became stranded along Leesville Road and Creedmoor Road.
  • Parking lots at Crabtree Valley Mall flooded.

Video from the scene showed some cars’ headlights were just above the water.

It appeared some car stalled out after driving into the high water.

Emergency crews were called out to help those stranded.

The road is now open.

The same storm flooded out cars littered the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Creedmoor Road in Raleigh Monday night.

The heavy rains fell fast and prompted a flash flood warning for parts of the Triangle.

Tow trucks worked to clear the intersection as emergency crews blocked it off until the roads were safe to pass.

Some parts of the parking area at Crabtree Valley Mall were also under water.
