Cyclists started and ended their ride at N.C. State's Centennial Campus, while passing through Durham and Chapel Hill along the way.

Funds raised from the event benefit the Duke Cancer Institute, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Wake Forest Baptist Health Comprehensive Cancer Center.

"It feels good to be able to continue Jim Valvanos legacy," stated V. Foundation CEO Susan Braun. "We can feel his gentle push on our shoulder that says keep going, there's more work to do, and we're doing it."

The V. Foundation has given more than $200 million to cancer research and more than one billion dollars in additional funding.
