HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. -- Emergency officials were called Saturday afternoon when a man had to be rescued from a well in Dunn.

  • Man was fell 20 to 25 feet below ground.
  • Not clear how man ended up in well.
  • Happened at home on Avocado Lane.

Officials received the call just before 5pm on May 12, to a home on Avocado Lane.

Authorities say the man is a member of the family that lives in the home. 

When they arrived, he was between 20 to 25 feet below ground.

Members of the Buies Creek Fire Department sent one of their team members down to rescue the man. It is not clear how exactly he ended up in the well.

While the man did not sustain any injuries, he was taken to the hospital to be evaluated, due to medical issues.
